Assessor Course

US115753 NQF 5, 15 Credits, 5 Days

 

Purpose: 

At the end of this training session you will be able to conduct outcomes-based assessments.

The credit calculation is based on the assumption that those starting to learn towards this unit standard have no previous assessment experience. It is assumed, though, that the candidate-assessors have evaluative expertise within the area of learning in which they intend to assess (see Definition of Terms for a definition of "evaluative expertise").

The programme methodology includes facilitator presentations, readings, individual activities, group discussions, and skill application exercises.

Facilitator Course

Purpose: 

At the end of this training session you will be able to facilitate learning/training using a variety of given methodologies.

The credit calculation is based on the assumption that learners are already competent in the learning area in which they will provide training. 

The programme methodology includes facilitator presentations, readings, individual activities, group discussions, and skill application exercises.

Moderator Course

Purpose:

At the end of this training session you will be able to conduct moderation of outcomes-based assessments.

FET Certificate in Counselling

SAQA ID49256 NQF 4, 143 Credits, 12 Months

 

PURPOSE:

The FETC: Counselling Qualification has been developed to meet the needs of learners in a variety of counselling contexts. It should develop learners who know their scope of practice, behave ethically in a counselling context, conform to minimum standards, know when to refer clients and understand the psychological consequences for clients if counsellors are inadequately trained or overstep their scope of practice.

National Certificate ODETDP
[Occupationally-Directed Education, Training and Development Practices] 

SAQA ID50334, NQF 5, 120 Credits, 12 Months

 

Purpose:

This qualification is for those who want to build on a FETC in any field to enter the field of ODETD as a potential career, and have little or no previous exposure to ETD. The qualification will also be valuable for those who may have been practising within the field, but without formal recognition. This qualification will be useful for:

Learning facilitators, Assessors, Moderators, Learner and learning supporters and Skills Development Facilitators.

Occupational Certificate: Christian Religious Professional

SAQA ID101571, NQF 5, 237 Credits, 24 Months

 

Purpose: 
The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Christian Religious Professional. 

A Christian Religious Professional directs and conducts the ministry functions in a faith community in order to facilitate spiritual formation; nurture fellowship and mutual care within the faith community; helps members to develop a Christian lifestyle; provides strategic leadership that leads to obedience to vocation as well as well-being and sustainability of the faith community; and develops a missional practice that shares the good news of Jesus Christ and serves the holistic well-being of the entire community.

Occupational Certificate: Early Childhood Development Practitioner 

SAQA ID97542, NQF 4, 131 Credits, 12 Months

 

Purpose:

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as an Early Childhood Development Practitioner. An Early Childhood Development Practitioner plans and prepares early childhood activities, facilitates and mediates learning, observes and assesses the progress of children, and reflects on learning in an inclusive, play-based environment to support holistic development of children (from conception - school going) in different centre-based or non-centre based settings.

 

A qualified learner will be able to:
 Plan and prepare broad-phase learning environment and stimulating activities that meet the holistic needs of all children in centre-based or non-centre-based settings.
 Facilitate and mediate all aspects of the daily programme in a centre-based or non-centre based setting.
 Observe, assess and record each child's progress according to the age and stage.
 Compile a report of each child's progress.
 Maintain and promote the well-being, health, nutrition, safety and protection of children.

Occupational Certificate: Health Promotion Officer

Purpose:
Health Promotion Officers/Community Health Workers:

Create a bridge between the providers of professional health services, community services, social agencies and vulnerable populations within the community through:
 Carrying out basic assessments of communities, households groups and individuals;
 Providing basic health education and referrals for a wide range of services; and
 Supporting and assisting in navigating the health and social services system.

Promotion of Personal Well-Being: Skills Program

NQF 4, 27 Credits, 39 Days

 

Purpose:

  • Apply problem-solving techniques to make a decision or solve a problem in a real-life context.

  • Identify causes of stress and techniques to manage it in the workplace.

  • Apply established strategies and procedures to deal with risk behaviour and promote personal well-being.

  • Apply knowledge of interpersonal relationships to enhance the effectiveness of the counselling process

Counselling: Skills Program

NQF 4, 26 Credits, 37 Days

 

Purpose:

  • Counsel an individual in a structured environment 

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of an individual's rights in a specific helping context

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ethical and legal aspects relating to counselling 

  • Facilitate a group counselling process 

  • Promote health and wellness in a selected context 

  • Screen a client to determine needs

HIV and AIDS, STIs and TB: Skills Program 

NQF 4, 34 Credits, 49 Days

 

Purpose:

  • Conduct a basic community needs assessment 

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of HIV and AIDS, other Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Tuberculosis (TB) for counselling purposes 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of dread diseases to effectively manage an infected or affected client 

  • Develop and implement a client ARV treatment plan 

  • Provide on-going counselling and support to individuals infected or affected by HIV and AIDS 

  • Provide pre and post HIV test counselling
